"I’ve had to keep this under wraps for over two years, but I can finally share the news...
Yes — the sunglasses worn by Brad Pitt as he’s welcomed by the APXGP team at Silverstone in the new F1 movie were supplied by Retrospectacle! And the exact model? The iconic ST Dupont D002.
I had the absolute pleasure of attending a premiere last night, and what a thrill it was to see Brad wearing the DuPonts throughout key moments — both early on and again towards the film’s finale.
As you'd expect, Brad looked absolutely stunning in them. The frames truly shine on screen, and it’s been a real privilege to collaborate once again with the incredible costume designer, Julian Day, on this project."

It was back in 2023 that we first learnt about the up-coming F1 movie featuring and produced by Brad Pitt & Lewis Hamilton. Brad took centre stage at Silverstone as filming commenced. As we followed the progress of the film it became apparent that sunglasses were going to be key accessories throughout the film.

The frame features the same temporal side detail as the D002 model see below.

The collection was a limited edition run and once they are gone they are gone. Each vintage S.T Dupont frame is numbered with a unique identifier code.

Silverstone was the first track to every hold a Formula 1 event back in 1950. So it made total sense to set the film at such a historic track, with Pitt's character "Sonny Hayes" a retired Formula 1 driver, who comes out of retirement to mentor his rookie team mate, Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris.

In the fast-paced world of Formula 1, style is not confined to the race cars alone. The drivers of the 1980s and 1990s not only showcased their skills on the track but also their impeccable fashion sense, often complemented by a pair of sleek and stylish sunglasses.
