Our standard 1.5 prescription lenses are an affordable and reliable option for everyday glasses and sunglasses. Made from high-quality CR39 material, they are ideal for lower prescriptions up to approximately ±3.00.

These standard index lenses provide excellent optical clarity and are ideal for reading glasses, vintage frames, fashion eyewear and general daily wear. They can also be customised with anti-reflective coatings, blue light protection, photochromic lenses and sun tints.

Are 1.5 lenses thick?

For low prescriptions 1.5 lenses usually appear slim and comfortable. If you have a stronger prescription or are considering a much larger oversized style frame, you may want to consider thinner high-index lenses, such as our 1.6 lenses.

Can Standard 1.5 lenses be tinted?

Yes. CR39 lenses are excellent for prescription sun tints, gradient tints and photochromic lenses. As they don't come with an anti-reflective coating as standard you have greater flexibility with colours and shades.

Yes. Standard 1.5 CR39 lenses are particularly popular for vintage glasses and sunglasses because they offer excellent clarity and tint compatibility.
