• A particularly striking limited-edition version of the iconic Preciosa 940 Goliath glasses, finished in translucent peacock-inspired acetate. The colour moves through rich emerald green and violet purple with flashes of warm amber yellow, creating a fluid gradient effect across the frame. Because the colours change through the acetate, the oversized square shape looks different from every angle and gives this Peacock edition a character all of its own. Originally designed in Holland in the 1970s, the Preciosa 940 is one of the most recognisable oversized eyewear designs of its era. Known in America as the Goliath, its bold square proportions went on to become closely associated with film and hip-hop culture. The design is particularly famous for its connection with Robert De Niro as Sam "Ace" Rothstein in Casino (1995) and has also been associated with Run-DMC. This Peacock colouway takes that unmistakable Goliath silhouette in a much more unusual direction. The translucent combination of green, purple and amber makes it considerably more colourful than the classic black and Havana versions, while the substantial acetate construction keeps the unmistakable Preciosa 940 presence. This is a current-production Preciosa 940, made in the Netherlands by Frame Holland, and this particular Peacock colourway is exceptionally limited, with only one manufactured.
